We held our collaborative staff planning day this month! Hosted by our Corporate team in Kununurra, the East Kimberley Job Pathways’ 2021 Staff Planning Day was a productive day of learning and brainstorming, with many new ideas and suggestions for how EKJP can continue to move forward into the later end of 2021 and beyond. We are moving through a changing CDP landscape, and are excited to see what the future holds for our organisation, and future initiatives tackling unemployment in remote areas of Australia.

We were very lucky to welcome guest speakers from Anglicare, Kimberley Group Training, Wunan Jobs & Skills Centre, and MG Corp (100+ Jobs), as well as speakers from within East Kimberley Job Pathways – featuring our CEO Michele Pucci, an informational session on Wayfinder and the NDIS from our NDIS Regional Manager Laura Little, HR & Policy information from Corporate Services Manager Gavin Connaughton, updates and training information on Revive from our Enterprise Manager Paige McLachlan, updates and training information on the Container Deposit Scheme/Containers for Change from our Operations Coordinator Ashleigh Wood, and crucial brainstorming and ideas session on the Community Development Program, hosted by CDP Operations Manager John Bongiorno.

Anglicare took our teams through some heavy material, providing training and information on navigating professional and personal relationships, family domestic violence, sexual assault, suicide, trauma, and how our communities in the East Kimberley feel the impact of these issues. Thank you to Alan, Brenda, and Jenny from Anglicare for their support and assistance in our ongoing commitment to reducing gendered violence as part of being a White Ribbon Accredited Workplace. 

Additionally, CEO Michele Pucci recognised long serving members of the EKJP team, thanking Brenton Makisi and Jess Yeo for five years of service, and Carmen Hunter for seven.
