NAIDOC Week celebrations were held earlier this month, with the East Kimberley Job Pathways teams participating across our region in events marking the 2021 theme of “Heal Country!”.

Heal Country! is a call for stronger measures to recognise, protect, and maintain all aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage. NAIDOC describes Healing Country as embracing First Nations peoples’ knowledge and understanding of Country as part of Australia’s national heritage, and that the culture and values of First Nations peoples should be respected equally to the cultures and values of all Australians.

EKJP staff and Participants walked the annual NAIDOC March across the region, and participated in the Kununurra NAIDOC Community Day. We also had representatives of EKJP and Wayfinder at the NAIDOC Week Aboriginal Health Expo. Check out all the photos below!
